Announcement丨Bulletin of the 70th Anniversary of UIBE No. 2

UIBE has been cultivating talents for 70 years, with over 200,000 alumni all over the world. On September 19th 2021, UIBE will celebrate its 70th anniversary. Since the release of the Bulletin of the 70th Anniversary of the University of International Business and Economics (UIBE) No. 1, we have received increased attention, strong support and active involvement from many students, faculty and staff, alumni both in China and abroad, and people of the UIBE community from all walks of life. Here, we would like to extend our sincere greetings and gratitude to you all!

Founded in 1951, UIBE is the first higher education institution originally dedicated to international trade in China. It is also a major national university directly under the supervision of the Ministry of Education in China, and one of the first batch of universities of the Ministry’s "211 project" and "Double First-Class initiative". Over the past 70 years, UIBE has been committed to living up to its motto of "Erudition, Honesty, Endeavor and Perfection", running the university based on its aim of fostering virtue through education. Among other achievements, it has cultivated numerous high-caliber talents with a national sentiment and a global vision to support China’s national governance and high-level opening-up strategy.

We will celebrate the 70th anniversary of UIBE in line with the principles of "openness, liveliness, pragmatism and modesty", and hold a series of celebration events in strict compliance with the requirements for COVID-19 pandemic prevention and control. We will adhere to our initial aspiration and mission, summarize experience and demonstrate the achievements made over the past 70 years. We will also take this opportunity to enrich our campus culture and engage all parties together to promote the reform and development of our university. In connection with the upcoming anniversary, we would like to announce the following major events:

Around September 19th, UIBE will host a series of academic and cultural exchange activities, either online or offline, including the opening ceremony for the UIBE Museum, the formation of The Finance and Economics University Belt and Road Alliance (FEUBRA), the Chinese-Foreign University Presidents Forum, the unveiling of a school motto stone and other campus landscape developments, a celebration meeting, a variety show, a conference of global alumni, and the 2021 Beijing Humboldt Forum. The specific schedule will be released one week before the anniversary via our anniversary website and the official UIBE WeChat account.

Looking back, we have gone through trials and tribulations; and now upon our 70th anniversary, we have seen our alumni of great caliber in so many different ways that are making an impact in their respective areas in the country. We sincerely welcome government leaders at all levels, guests and friends from all walks of life, and alumni in China and abroad who are care and support the development of UIBE. Let’s gather together either online or offline to attend the celebrations, strengthen our friendship, develop our future plans, and jointly write a new chapter for UIBE!
