宁诺再添名企“朋友圈”，学生独特竞争力受雇主青睐

University cooperates with leading companies to improve student employability

21 April: The 2021 UNNC Internship Fair and the 6th UNNC Summer Placement Programme were successfully held on campus.  

According to Stephanie Sun from UNNC Admissions and Career Development Office (ACDO), over 60 companies participated upon invitation, many of which are world leading enterprises, Fortune 500 listed companies, offering approximately 1260 internship opportunities. Through such career activities, the University hopes to promote the school-enterprise cooperation and improve the employability of our students.  

On the UNNC Summer Placement Programme Signing Ceremony, eight new partners including AB InBev, Geely, Intellisia Institute, Whale Cloud, Chapman Taylor, NIO, Ping An Insurance and Ashland signed agreements with the University to formally join the programme. UNNC also signed an agreement to establish a strategic partnership with Zhaopin, a leading career development platform in China, to carry out a series of online recruitment activities.  

Professor Weiqi Shen, Vice-Provost of UNNC, said that each year approximately 75% of graduates seeking employment went to world-renowned Fortune 500 or well-known Chinese or international enterprises. This attributes not only to the exceptional education quality of UNNC, but also to the school-enterprise cooperation in talent cultivation, which provides valuable internship opportunities and helps students improve their employability in diverse ways. "It will be a win-win cooperation," he remarked.  

Dingding Chen, Founder and President of Intellisia Institute, Andrew Nip, Head of People and Culture China and Head of Learning and Development & Internal Recruitment Asia from HAYS, and Heidi Lou, Head of EVP of L’Oréal (China), gave high remarks of the University’s graduates during their speeches to the ceremony audience. The diligence, innovation and proactiveness of UNNC graduates left deep impressions on them as well as other employers. 

So far, 500 well-known domestic and foreign companies have registered on the career system of the ACDO. These companies have developed long-term cooperation with UNNC and seek to jointly cultivate outstanding international talent. 

The afternoon’s Internship Fair attracted around 2000 students, and was a great success. Most booths such as Tesla Motors, Unilever, NIO, L’Oréal (China), Unilever (China) and China Construction Bank received a long queue of enquiring students.  

Yifei Li, a Year 4 student in Architectural Environment Engineering, sent her CV to the East China Architecture Design and Research Institute (ECADI) a few weeks ago. “I was pleasantly surprised to see that the admission officer brought my CV to the fair,” she said. At the Fair, she also communicated with other prospective companies, such as Broadway Malyan (Shanghai), and submitted her CV.  

“We prefer employees who have an international vision and great English language skills, which most students from UNNC are equipped with,” said a recruiter from PwC AC. This was seconded by a recruiter from Motion Global, who added: “UNNC graduates are now capable of dealing with various challenges independently in overseas markets." 

In the future, the University will continue to offer comprehensive, professional and tailored-made guidance, as well as diversified internship services, seeking to ensure that graduates are able to achieve their optimal personal development.
