【枫叶高中・科学展】动手动脑真实践,科学展中展风采
枫叶高中科学展是提升学生对于理科的学习兴趣,并且帮助学生全方面得到提高的一项非常有意义的活动,每年如期举行。
首先,学生需要根据自己所学的科学知识找到一个自己很感兴趣的课题,并且像科学家一样,用实验探究的方式找到这个问题的答案。紧接着,学生们需要先完成一个提案。在提案中,学生们要写明对于这个课题的背景介绍、在生活中的应用、对于实验结果的猜想及理论依据,还有实验的步骤。之后在老师的指导下,学生将会完成数据的收集并完成一份正式的实验报告。在报告中,学生们需要总结他们所得到的数据,分析其中的错误,并且从数据中找到问题的答案。
最后,学生需要完成一次5分钟左右的演讲,总结他们这次科学展的课题。根据学生们所做的报告和演讲,老师会评选出每个班级的优胜者来参加校级科学展的活动。在学校科学展活动中,班级的优胜者们会向全校的师生来展示和介绍他们的课题,并在所有理科老师的评分下,选出每个年级的优胜者来代表学校参加集团范围内所有高中校区科学展的评比。
总之,科学展这项活动可以培养学生们的创造力和社会责任感。在实验的过程中,学生们会进一步熟悉实验器材并掌握实验操作的流程。通过分析实验数据,可以提高学生们的批判式思维和小组合作探究的能力。最后,在演讲的过程中,学生们可以锻炼他们的语言表达能力。

Science Fair is a very meaningful activity to improve students' interest in science and help them improve in all aspects. First of all, students need to find a question that they are interested in according to their scientific knowledge and find the answer to this question in the way of experimental inquiry like scientists. Then the students need to complete a proposal. In the proposal, students should specify the background of the subject, the application in life, the hypothesis with theoretical basis for the experimental result, and the procedure of the experiment. After that, under the guidance of the teacher, students will collect data and complete a formal lab report. In the report, students need to summarize the data they have obtained, analyze the errors, and find the answers to the questions from the data. Finally, students will have a presentation of about 5 minutes about their project. According to the reports and presentation made by the students, the teacher will select the winners of each class to participate in the school Science Fair. In the school Science Fair, the winners of the class will show and introduce their projects to the teachers and students of the whole school. Science teachers will judge and select the winners of each grade to participate in the system’s fair on behalf of the school.
Generally speaking, Science Fair can cultivate students' creativity and sense of social responsibility. During the experiment, students will be further familiar with the experimental equipment and master the process of experimental operation. By analyzing the experimental data, students can improve their ability of critical thinking and cooperation with other people. Finally, during the presentation, students can practice their communication skills.
维C真的会消失吗?

在实验中感受科学魅力,在交流中获得成长经验。在目前在这个特殊时期,补充维生素C可以辅助我们提高免疫力。所以在这次科学展中,我和组员对“温度如何影响水果中维生素C的含量”展开了探究。如果温度升高后水果中维C会减少,那么改变溶液颜色所需的碘液将减少。实验中,我们用了15滴碘液才让常温下的橘子汁变色,但是当果汁被加热后,7滴碘液就让溶液从浅黄变成了深棕。由此可见,当温度升高时,水果中的维C就会减少。
在科学展上,我们向前来参观的老师、同学们详细讲解了我们的实验过程。结合海报上的图片和实验数据,我和队友分工合作,一人讲假设和实验相关内容,另一人总结实验并给出结论。我们不仅解释了实验,还举了西红柿在高温下会流失维生素C的例子证明高温对维C的影响。很多同学对我们的实验表现出极大的兴趣,希望继续学习科学知识,在明年的科学展上展示自己的成果。科学展让我们有机会研究科学知识并将所学应用于生活。例如,因为高温会减少水果中的维C,所以我们平时应避免加热富含维生素的水果。师生间的交流激发了同学们学习科学的热情。老师们的鼓励和肯定让我们变得自信。我会珍惜这次宝贵的经历,在以后的学习中更加努力。
We felt the charm of science and gained valuable experience at the science fair. During current special period, supplementation of vitamin C can help us improve our immunity. Therefore, for this science project, my partner and I experimented on "how temperature affects the amount of vitamin C in fruit". We assumed that if the temperature increases, the amount of vitamin C in the fruit will decrease, then less iodine solution will be needed to change the color of the solution. In the experiment, it took 15 drops of iodine to change the color of the orange juice at room temperature, but when the juice was heated, 7 drops of iodine were needed to change the color of the solution. Therefore, when the temperature rises, the vitamin C content of fruits decreases.
At the science fair, we explained our experiment in detail to the teachers and students. We used the pictures on the posters and the experimental data to support our presentations. One of us talked about our hypothesis and the experiment, and the other person summarized the experiment and gave a conclusion. After explaining the experiment, we demonstrated the change in vitamin C at high temperatures by stating that tomatoes lose vitamin C when cooked at 190.4 Fahrenheit. Many students became interested in our experiment and expressed their desire to learn more about science. The science fair gave us the opportunity to study science and apply what we learned in real-life situations. For example, we should avoid heating vitamin-rich fruits because high temperatures reduce the amount of vitamin C in fruits. Communication between students and teachers inspired the students to learn science. The teachers' encouragement and affirmation boosted our confidence. I will cherish this valuable experience and work harder in my future studies.
